Government and It's Class War
The headline read "Feds tie increased mental illness to marijuana use". The article quotes nameless and faceless government officials who themselves quote a "think tank", a nameless propaganda machine funded by the rich and a religion controlled government. To the credit of the news report, they did mention that there is no evidence that the children in the study weren't already predisposed towards mental illness, didn't give a single detail of how the evidence was obtained, or how the evidence was discerned. As in all of these "studies",it is assumed the public wouldn't understand the basic nature of subjects and controls that we all learned in Science class in middle school.
The fact remains that not one single reputable study has rendered any evidence whatsoever that marijuana has caused any cancer at all, nor any other illness for that matter. It was reported that 700,000 marijuana arrests were made last year, with 17 of 18 being misdemeanor cases. It was also not lost on me that a few weeks before when the government announced 10,000 nationwide arrests were made in a sweeping program coordinated by the FBI, government mouthpieces lauded it as a great victory for the "good guys". Unfortunately, it was a bunch of bullshit. 70% of those arrested were wanted for drug arrests. Add in the child support scofflaws and you've got a figure around the 90% level.
Of course, the nameless government officials and moral mouthpieces for the government never told us how many millions of dollars they wasted on this effort to wage war on the poor. These arrests serve no other purpose but to put the poor in jail, cow them, tyrannize them. The rich can afford good lawyers and court costs.
How many of those arrested were people of color? Another statistic that the nameless, faceless government officials don't have the stomach to divulge. With a 25% unemployment rate among blacks, and stunted educational opportunities and little hope for economic advancement, little hope out of the fundamentalist dictatorship of the religious and moral conservatives, there is little wonder that gambles are taken. It's too depressing to be seen through sober eyes.
But the effect of this class war-it effects lower class whites and all other races-is to create an underclass of oppressed, and it is taking an increasing amount of money for the upper classes to wage this war. They have all kinds of wily propaganda machines at work with the basic old fashioned army slogan of 'divide and conquer." We have skinheads, rednecks and supremacists to hate all things nonwhite. Remnants of the Nation of Islam are still alive. Mexican Americans are feeling abused by the illegal alien rhetoric. Homophobia is widespread in all classes. There's Superpatriotism, which somehow turns hatred toward war into disrespect for soldiers. And the whole thing is wrapped with an American flag, fear towards all things Arab, and rabid devotion to a gaggle of primetime newspeople with all the respectability of the National Enquire. (If professional wrestling long ago admitted it was fake, when are the primetime news people going to admit their so-called news is nothing more than gossip?
All Americans need to unite. Black brothers and white brothers need to embrace the culture of one another that acknowledges a compassion for one another, a respect for one another. Maybe the God of the Old Testament was black. Malcom X pointed out that possibility long ago. So what if he was? The only reason it makes a difference is when a race feels superior to another, otherwise, it should create a fascination towards the culture Christ was born into.
White Supremacy certainly does reign in the consciousness of America. We accept the images of Christ that those old Italian Catholics painted, we accept the tyranny and human degradation and outright racism of Israel towards Palestine, congressman openly court the support of bigoted white religous leaders. In Walmart stores all across America rednecks are cringing when they hear the Spanish language. People in middle-class neighborhoods cringe when a black family moves in. Black men are routinely pulled over when they are seen driving a new car. Black men are pulled over when driving in a predominantly white neighborhood. And millions of dollars are wasted on studies and reports. These are things everyone feels at any given time due to the social peer structure.
The downtrodden economic slaves of America come from all different races, cultures and societies. If we the slaves could unite to overthrow our slavery, to recognize how we are manipulated and divided we can easily effect change. There's 250 million of us in America alone. How I marvel at the ease with which we've been conquered.
