Liberation
Onrushing, the crowds bleed into the focus of the observer, sailors with swords, militiamen with muskets, boys with pistols. Emerging from the belching smoke, their voices drowned by artillery, they step over their dead, claiming them as symbols, led as in a trance by a woman, baring her breasts, a rifle in one hand and a flag in the other.
